Partnering for Vision: Rotary and Thrive Ensure Bright Futures for Students

September 11, 2025, Dhaka, Bangladesh — Eye Care Program successfully conducted its school sight testing program at Gulshan Literacy Program School, Badda, on September 10, 2025. The program, funded by the Rotary Club of Dhaka West and in association with Thrive International, aimed to provide essential eye health services to students and staff members of the school.

A total of 210 individuals, comprising 94 boys and 116 girls, participated in the eye screening. Additionally, 19 teachers and staff members underwent screening. A total of 19 students received eye drops, and 13 were prescribed spectacles. Twelve students were referred for further medical evaluation.

Following this success, ECP continued its efforts on September 11, 2025, at the Gulshan Literacy Program School in Gabtoli. A total of 129 students were screened, along with 10 teachers and staff members. Thirteen students received medication, while fourteen were provided with new spectacles. Only one patient required a referral for further medical attention.

This program marks a significant step toward improving eye health awareness in the community, providing necessary interventions, and ensuring that those in need receive proper eye care support. ECP team, alongside volunteers from Gulshan Literacy Program, Rotary Club of Dhaka West and Thrive International, is committed to ensuring that such initiatives continue to reach more communities, improving the quality of life through better vision.
