Mr. Feroz Hassan, a co-founder, and the founding President of Manabik Shahajya Sangstha (MSS), has been integral to its operations since its establishment in 1974, holding various roles over the years. Presently, he serves as the organization’s Chief Advisor.
Beyond his involvement with MSS, Mr. Hassan is a prominent figure in Bangladesh’s business landscape, serving as the Chairman of Giant Group, a leading garment conglomerate, and playing a pivotal role in shaping the country’s garment industry.
A committed humanitarian, Mr. Hassan has dedicated himself to aiding impoverished and marginalized communities both locally and internationally since 1968, consistently among the first responders to disaster-stricken areas. His efforts extended to addressing the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, he holds the position of President of the Baridhara Society, a group dedicated to enhancing neighborhood standards.
Furthermore, he established and leads the Safiuddin Ahmed Foundation, overseeing the operations of the Safiuddin Ahmed Foundation Eye Hospital in Muzaborni, Thakurgaon. This facility offers modern eye treatments to disadvantaged individuals in the northern region of Bangladesh, often at minimal or no cost.
With a wealth of experience in election monitoring, Mr. Hassan was instrumental in introducing and promoting domestic election monitoring in Bangladesh. He spearheaded the formation of the Fair Election Monitoring Alliance (FEMA), a coalition of over 200 organizations dedicated to monitoring electoral processes both domestically in Bangladesh and internationally in countries such as Cambodia, the Philippines, Bulgaria, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and India.
